TechOps SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) - FIX Rapidly growing Chicago‑based financial technology firm operating industry‑leading trading technology solutions (OMS, Risk & Margin tools) is looking for a passionate, hardworking, self‑motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of the financial industry to join our growing team. STT has invested heavily in building new sophisticated product lines in Order Management Systems, Risk systems and trading platforms and is seeking a TechOps SRE (Site Reliability Engineer). Location : Chicago area Note: This is a hybrid role with two days per week required in the Chicago office. Job Responsibilities

Provide Level 2/3 support for production trading systems to ensure stability and optimal performance. Manage and oversee the production release process, ensuring smooth deployments and minimal disruption to services. Collaborate closely with the coverage desk, development teams, and infrastructure teams to coordinate releases and enhancements. Coordinate end‑to‑end FIX connectivity projects—covering conformance testing, certification, and onboarding—for both inbound client FIX sessions and outbound market/venue FIX sessions. Serve as the primary liaison between clients, venues, external vendors, and Sterling’s Implementation & Development teams to guarantee flawless go‑lives. Implement and enhance monitoring solutions to proactively address potential issues in trading systems. Drive the automation of trading systems to improve efficiency and reduce the likelihood of human error in live trading environments. Required Skills and Technologies

Strong programming skills in Python. Proficient in Linux environments (preferably Red Hat or similar), with a solid understanding of command‑line operations and application management. Experience with configuration‑management tools such as Ansible (or similar). Familiarity with version‑control systems such as Git and best practices in code versioning and collaboration. Hands‑on experience with the FIX protocol (4.x/5.x), including session and application‑layer message flows, connectivity certification, and production troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi‑party connectivity initiatives, balancing client, vendor, and internal engineering priorities while meeting aggressive timelines. Desired Qualifications

Strong analytical skills and the capacity to work under pressure during critical incidents.
