Overview
Astera is seeking a Head of Engineering, Crypto to lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution for our integration with the decentralized world. You will be responsible for architecting and building the bridge between our core platform and the blockchain ecosystem, ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable access to on-chain prediction markets. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires deep technical expertise in blockchain technology combined with the ability to build and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Base pay range

Technical Strategy & Roadmap:
Define the technical architecture and roadmap for all crypto-related initiatives, from smart contract development to backend integration with decentralized protocols. Team Leadership & Execution:
Build, lead, and mentor a team of blockchain and software engineers. Drive the execution of the crypto roadmap, ensuring high standards for code quality, security, and performance. System Architecture:
Design and oversee the implementation of scalable and secure systems for interacting with blockchains, managing wallets, and processing on-chain data. Security & Compliance:
Own the security of all crypto-related infrastructure and applications. Partner with legal and compliance teams to implement technical solutions that meet regulatory requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product, quant, and design teams to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver user-friendly crypto features. Technical Innovation:
Stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape, evaluating and advocating for new technologies, protocols, and architectural patterns that can enhance our platform. Qualifications
Grit Experience in software engineering; crypto/blockchain space in a technical leadership capacity. Proven track record of architecting, building, and shipping complex, production-grade dApps or blockchain integrations. Deep expertise in smart contract development (Solidity), blockchain architecture (Ethereum, L2s), and backend engineering for crypto. Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience hiring, mentoring, and managing engineering teams. An architectural visionary with a forward-looking mindset who can anticipate technical challenges and opportunities in the crypto space.
