Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced REIT Accounting Manager to join our dynamic asset management team. The ideal candidate will oversee the accounting functions related to our Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, GAAP, and REIT-specific requirements. CPA certification is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the REIT portfolio, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end close processes. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and REIT-specific regulations. Ensure accurate and timely compliance with SEC filings, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements. Oversee accounting for property acquisitions, dispositions, and capital transactions. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and responses. Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics for the REIT assets. Maintain comprehensive documentation and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with asset management and investment teams to support financial analysis and decision-making. Stay current with evolving accounting standards, tax laws, and REIT regulations. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation highly preferred. Proven experience in REIT accounting, real estate, or asset management. Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and REIT-specific accounting standards. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work schedule availability. Preferred Attributes: CPA certification. Prior experience in a publicly traded REIT or real estate investment firm. Strong understanding of tax implications related to REITs. Leadership qualities and team management skills. Seniority level
