~6 Months Responsibilities
Lead sustaining engineering efforts for key chassis subsystems—including suspension, steering, braking, and drivetrain—from issue identification to full fleet implementation. Develop and validate design updates to improve reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive corrective actions that enhance part durability and long-term performance. Create and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Change Actions (CAs), and detailed validation test plans. Analyze field and fleet data to assess the effectiveness of design updates and ensure sustained performance improvements. Provide hands-on technical leadership during retrofit campaigns, installation trials, and complex issue resolution. Mentor junior engineers and technicians in best practices for sustaining engineering, testing, and root cause analysis. Champion continuous improvement through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration with service, manufacturing, and reliability teams. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s preferred. 6–8 years of experience in chassis, powertrain, or mechanical systems engineering within a design and manufacturing setting. Proven record of implementing subsystem-level corrective actions that improve product reliability and serviceability. Deep understanding of mechanical design principles and a range of fabrication/manufacturing processes. Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA strongly preferred). Skilled in DFMEA, root cause analysis, and validation testing. Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with experience leading technical reviews. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities independently. Experience with EV platforms, autonomous vehicles, or advanced mobility systems highly preferred. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by WorkGenius. Seniority level
