Kforce is looking for a strong technical expert with a passion for cutting-edge technology to support our industry leading innovative technology client. The Lead Hardware Design Engineer will lead and drive electrical system designs to accomplish their product vision in wearable device development. This individual has deep experience in all stages of the consumer electronics product lifecycle from early concepts through production and has a passion for building great products. The Lead Hardware Design Engineer will join an existing team of hardware, embedded software, and cloud software engineers to develop ground-breaking consumer electronics products. This role requires deep technical expertise in board level designs, system architecture, and electronic/electromechanical subsystems. Responsibilities
Lead the electrical system design of a wearable device, including power management, microcontroller/SoC selection, and sensor integration Lead Schematic design, PCB layout oversight, bringup, and test using a combination of internal teams and external partners Work with SME teams to integrate audio, camera, wireless (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), and charging systems into a compact, low-power form factor Use data to drive component selection, comms and system bus strategies, power strategies Manage key technical trade-offs, including power and performance constraints Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical program managers Build technical documentation and presentations Requirements
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and system architecture 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment Experience working with ODM teams to bring a consumer electronic or medical device from concept to production Expertise in low-power consumer or medical electronic systems; Intimate familiarity with EE processes and Cadence schematic and layout tools Circuit fundamentals understanding ranging from low power analog to high-speed signals Deep knowledge in at least one adjacent subsystem such as acoustic, battery, power, and sensing Excellent written and verbal communication experience building technical documentation and presentations The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
