Supply Chain Manager The Supply Chain Manager will own the entire supply chain, from creating a qualified inventory system for laboratory operations to managing procurement for R&D teams. This hands-on leader will help architect the procurement and inventory modules within the company’s LIMS and ERP systems, working to build an efficient, compliant, and scalable supply chain critical to accurate diagnostic test results. With deep expertise in laboratory supply chain management principles and experience transferring non-stock status reagents to qualified inventory stock items, the Supply Chain Manager will help create a modern platform that drives quality, delivers cost-effective procurement, and strengthens operational readiness. The Supply Chain Manager will demonstrate the ability to build and maintain robust supplier relationships while optimizing inventory with MRP precision across laboratory and R&D operations. This role will oversee the full procurement chain from requisition approval to purchase order creation, goods receipt and inspection, reconciliation, and payment. This person will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure uninterrupted operations and the accurate delivery of diagnostic results. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will be instrumental in implementing, optimizing, and maintaining the purchasing and inventory modules within the company’s ERP and LIMS platforms, ensuring seamless data integration as part of broader enterprise data initiatives. It is critically important to align supply chain processes with quality management and regulatory compliance, ensuring high-quality products and adherence to applicable standards. Responsibilities
Procurement Cycle Ownership: Hands-on management of all routine and strategic procurement for the company, including laboratory and R&D needs. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the company to manage all vendors, pricing, and applicable contract negotiations. Ensure that the requisition–to–purchase order–to–receipt of goods process is followed and all data is correctly entered into the appropriate LIMS or ERP. Ensure all processes and policies related to procurement are documented according to SOPs. Inventory Management: Develop and implement a scalable, compliant stock inventory system, transitioning from the current non-stock R&D process to a fully qualified and traceable operation. Develop and implement a part number system that can be used for stock inventory, including tracking of lot numbers and dating. Configure the inventory module within the ERP to facilitate entry of new qualified supplies with appropriate attributes and approvals as needed. Work with Product Management and Marketing to enable the development of any kits and present alternatives for third-party fulfillment, including make-vs-purchase analyses. Develop and implement an automated receipt and tracking process that supports incoming inspections and updates data within both the ERP and LIMS. Develop and implement an internal inventory requisition process for stock items. Coordinate the logistics and distribution of materials for both laboratory and R&D purposes, considering any specialized storage requirements while minimizing cost. Ensure proper reconciliation of received goods and associated financial records. ERP, LIMS, and Data Platform Integration: Act as the primary supply chain stakeholder for the implementation and configuration of ERP purchasing, manufacturing, and inventory modules. This includes defining requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, managing data migration, testing, and training end-users to ensure seamless integration with LIMS and enterprise data systems. Define inventory and procurement requirements within LIMS and oversee integration to and from ERP modules. Participate in company-wide data initiatives as the supply chain and inventory representative. Ensure that data entry into all systems is timely, accurate, and follows all company processes. Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Quality Management: Strategically manage material costs to optimize cost of goods for company tests. Responsible for identifying and executing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining strict quality standards, directly contributing to the company’s overall financial health and accessibility of tests. Ensure adherence to applicable quality standards governing the handling, storage, and usage of laboratory materials, and the accurate delivery of diagnostic test results. This includes collaborating on supplier qualifications and audits. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain processes, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks, while maintaining a strong focus on quality. Develop and execute strategies to mitigate supply chain risks, including identifying potential disruptions, establishing backup suppliers, and creating contingency plans for critical materials. Work closely with laboratory personnel, scientific teams, and quality and regulatory management to understand material needs, communicate supply chain status, and address any issues. Utilize supply chain data to identify trends, optimize performance, and generate reports on key metrics such as fill rates, order accuracy, and inventory turnover for both operational and R&D materials. Champion a culture of excellence, ownership, and collaboration. Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues across the organization, ensuring all team members are aligned with the company’s core purpose and values. Qualifications: A demonstrated skill set for creating efficient, scalable processes from the ground up in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering, Quality, or a related field is preferred. A proven track record of success in managing supply chain operations within laboratory or regulated environments is preferred. Experience managing R&D procurement and materials is required.
