Job Title:
Occupational Health Nurse
Location:
Carlsbad, CA
Contract:
12 months+ with possible extension
Shift:
Days: 3*8s - 24 hrs/weekly
Pay Range:
$70 to $75/hr. on W2
Responsibilities
Perform pre-employment and annual health assessments, including immunizations and health screenings.
Manage employee injuries and illnesses, providing treatment, documentation, and follow-up care.
Administer vaccinations, TB testing, and drug/alcohol screenings as needed.
Maintain confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide health education and counselling to employees on wellness, disease prevention, and lifestyle management.
Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state health regulations.
Assist with workers’ compensation cases, including case management and return-to-work evaluations.
Collaborate with HR, Environmental Health, and Safety teams to implement effective health and wellness programs.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of RN experience - preferably in Occupational Health, Employee Health, or Public Health
An active, unrestricted RN license in California is required.
BLS/CPR Certification (American Heart Association) is required.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S) is preferred
Experience in case management or employee health program development and OSHA guidelines.
