About Our Client: Addison Group is hiring for our client, a mission-driven non-profit organization.
Job Description: The Development Assistant will provide administrative and database support to the fundraising and donor relations department. This position plays an essential role in processing donations, maintaining accurate donor records, preparing acknowledgment letters, and assisting with special fundraising events and community outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process and record donations, gifts, and contributions in the donor database.
Prepare donor acknowledgments, tax receipts, and tribute letters in a timely manner.
Assist in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of donor and gift records.
Generate reports and data summaries to support fundraising and stewardship initiatives.
Support the coordination and execution of fundraising and donor appreciation events.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to donor inquiries and phone calls.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to reconcile gifts and maintain data consistency.
Assist with community outreach programs, donation drives, and volunteer engagement efforts.
Perform general administrative duties and other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2–3 years of experience in an administrative, fundraising, or donor relations support role.
Familiarity with CRM or donor database systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus).
Excellent attention to detail and strong data entry accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and online collaboration tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, professional demeanor.
Ability to handle confidential information and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort working in an organization that involves animal care and advocacy.
Additional Details:
Role consists of approximately 75% data entry and 25% phone and clerical support.
