About the Role
The Trading Assistant role requires 1-3 years of experience in trade support or operations, preferably in High Yield or Bank Loans. The Trading Assistant will be an integral member of the High Yield and Bank Loan Group at Symetra Investment Management (SIM), working directly with traders to support the full trade lifecycle. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, process oriented, and analytical with excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.There is potential for this role to eventually include trade execution.

What you will do
Provide support to HY and Bank Loan desk
Report and track new issues, corporate actions, and market movers
Ensure timely and accurate trade booking and allocation
Collaborate with counterparties and operations to resolve trade breaks and settle trades
Maintain and enhance desk tools using Excel, Bloomberg, and other systems
Identify and implement process improvements
Perform reconciliations to ensure data accuracy

Compensation
Salary Range:$85,400 - $142,300 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs
Who you are
Bachelor's level degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or relevant field is required.
1-3 years of experience in trade support or operations within HY and/or Bank Loans
Strong knowledge of leveraged finance markets
Strong grasp of trade lifecycle, settlement, and documentation
Experience with trading platforms like Bloomberg, Allvue, and ClearPar
Strong analytical skills utilizing Excel, VBA or Python a plus
Ability to work in a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Attention to detail, organizational, and communications skills
Knowledge of bank loan settlement and trade cycle highly preferred
High school diploma required.

Note: This position is in Farmington, CT and it will be a hybrid work environment.
