Overview Privacy Awareness and Enablement Specialist - USDS

Responsibilities

Conduct formal and informal needs assessments (e.g., surveys, interviews, and work groups) to identify privacy training and awareness gaps within operational and business teams.

Catalog existing content and maintain a knowledge base to serve as a single source of truth for privacy training and awareness.

Proactively identify and leverage relevant privacy training modules and communication assets from existing libraries and adapt resources for the USDS audience.

Translate complex privacy principles and policies into clear, business-friendly language.

Develop regional case studies and scenarios illustrating key privacy concepts in relatable operational contexts.

Collaborate with stakeholders to create practical training addressing real-world, regional challenges.

Serve as the formal point of contact for global privacy training, communications, and policy teams; provide feedback to global teams on content adaptations for USDS needs.

Advocate for USDS training needs and propose joint development projects to create content mutually beneficial to USDS and global teams.

Manage end-to-end delivery of USDS privacy communications and training, including a communications calendar and scheduling training sessions.

Deliver engaging presentations and workshops to diverse regional stakeholders, from individual contributors to leadership.

Track metrics (e.g., training completion rates, feedback scores) and provide regular reports to leadership.

Act as a champion for a privacy-aware culture, promoting best practices and a proactive privacy mindset.

Engage in special projects as the team expands; the role is designed to evolve with opportunities to advance within program management or privacy subject matter expertise.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Law, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

4+ years of experience in a communications, training, or project management role with a focus on program delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft clear narratives for diverse audiences.

Experience managing projects end-to-end and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Foundational knowledge of key privacy concepts and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Ability to navigate ambiguity within a large, complex organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or other relevant certifications (CDPSE, CDPO, PLS).

Experience in a communications or training role within a large organization with centralized privacy governance.

Proven track record of building and delivering effective training or communications programs.

Job Information Compensation: For Pay Transparency — Base salary range for Washington, DC is 89,920 - 176,400 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, and location. Base pay may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and RSUs. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and paid time off. Benefits may vary by location.
