Recruiting Manager specializing in Corporate Finance & Accounting
A private equity–backed contract development and manufacturing organization located in the Framingham area is seeking an Accounting Manager/ Assistant Controller to oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This Accounting Manager/ Assistant Controller role offers a mix of hands-on accounting, process improvement, and strategic partnership with leadership. The ideal Accounting Manager/ Assistant Controller candidate will thrive in a smaller, fast-paced environment and bring a strong foundation in accounting operations, cash management, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
Lead the accounting function, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. Manage cash flow and banking relationships; prepare and update weekly cash forecasts. Establish and maintain sound revenue recognition practices in compliance with GAAP. Develop efficient closing procedures and strengthen internal controls. Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with benefit and 401(k) programs. Partner with leadership across departments to enhance financial awareness and operational efficiency. Optimize use of QuickBooks and prepare for potential migration to a more robust ERP or inventory management platform. Coordinate with external partners and vendors supporting finance or accounting functions. Assist with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and ad hoc reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or public accounting background strongly preferred. Proven experience managing accounting operations in a small to mid-sized company. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close procedures. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and work hands-on in a dynamic environment.
