Engineering Team Lead
who will mentor a small, cross-functional group of engineers while actively contributing to the design, testing, and validation of our next generation of products. This role is ideal for a
player-coach
who thrives in both leadership and technical execution—someone who can guide others, manage projects, and dive into mechanical design, product testing, or system integration. The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering background (mechanical, electrical, test, etc.) with
solid project management or Agile experience , ensuring technical excellence, clear priorities, and effective team collaboration. Key Responsibilities for Engineering Team Lead:
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering collaboration, technical growth, and accountability. Manage team workload and project schedules using Agile or hybrid development practices. Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, ensuring projects meet both design intent and performance goals. Partner with R&D and production to align priorities and deliver results across multiple concurrent initiatives. Contribute directly to prototype design, testing, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems and sensors. Develop and execute test plans for performance, durability, and environmental validation. Drive root cause analysis and implement practical design or process improvements. Collaborate with design teams on mechanical layouts, component selection, and manufacturability improvements. Project Management & Process
Plan, track, and report project milestones and deliverables across cross-functional teams. Apply Agile or stage-gate principles to streamline development and ensure timely feedback cycles. Facilitate effective communication between engineering, production, and quality functions. Champion continuous improvement through post-project reviews, metrics, and iteration of best practices. Nice to Have
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and XRAY for task and test tracking. Familiarity with PLM systems (Arena, Agile) and CAD or mechanical design tools (SolidWorks, Creo). Background in environmental, performance, or reliability testing. PMP certification or Agile/Scrum Master experience is a plus. Qualifications and Skills required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related technical discipline). 7+ years of engineering experience in product development, testing, or system integration. 2+ years of team leadership, mentoring, or technical project management. Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects or leading Agile teams. Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation, sensors, or electro-mechanical assemblies. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
