Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Trauma Surgery
Location: 79 Jefferson St HH Bliss Wing (10064)
Role overview Join a level one trauma center team as an Advanced Practitioner (PA or NP) within a multidisciplinary trauma program. The APPs plan and deliver care for trauma patients from the emergency department to the operating room, surgical floors, critical care units, and outpatient settings. Extensive training and onboarding will be provided for skills including management and resuscitation of level one trauma patients, first assist OR skills, chest tubes, central lines, and other procedures.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with physicians and care teams to develop plans for patient evaluation, treatment, and disposition.
Provide routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans within the scope of practice and established protocols.
Refer to other health team members or specialists as indicated for further evaluation.
Perform procedures within scope of practice and identify issues requiring physician oversight.

Location: 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, CT 06102
Setting: Inpatient, trauma surgery
Schedule: Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts; premium differentials offered
Call schedule: No call
Qualifications
Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Experience: New graduates welcome to apply
Preferred: 2+ years’ experience as a PA or NP in a surgical setting
