Assistant Director of Nursing

YAD Healthcare
/ Clayton Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center, Clayton, NC. This role supports the Director of Nursing in planning, development and overall operation of the Nursing Department to ensure residents receive quality care 24 hours a day.
Responsibilities
Assists the D.O.N with planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
Ensures the Nursing Department is in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Develops, implements and updates department policy and procedures as needed.
Assists with staffing to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements at all times.
Participates in Federal, State and Local agency annual surveys.
Reviews deficiencies noted by government agencies and helps implement corrective actions.
Completes annual performance reviews of subordinate staff; provides guidance and education on performance.
Provides counseling and disciplinary action to subordinate staff as needed.
Responsible for training and education of staff members.
Maintains infection control and standard precaution practices; follows safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
Reports hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to appropriate personnel.
Maintains resident comfort, privacy and dignity, and interacts with warmth and respect.
Responds promptly to call lights in resident care areas.
Assists with admissions, readmissions, and transfer of residents within the facility.
Communicates effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
Attends and participates in departmental meetings and in-services.
Supervisory Responsibility This position directly supervises all nursing staff including R.N.s, L.P.N.s and C.N.A.s.
Required Education And Experience
Associates Degree in Science, Nursing or related field
Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Current State License as Registered Nurse
C.P.R. Certified
2 years R.N. experience
Preferred Education And Experience
5 years R.N. experience
Previous experience managing a Nursing department
