BN relies on suppliers for prototype and production success on complex products with challenging requirements. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, manages supplier quality performance, and leads quality improvement initiatives. Position Summary
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is the primary owner of supplier quality, shaping the success of Barber-Nichols and our customers in critical space, advanced energy, and defense applications. This role ensures suppliers provide high-quality materials and components that meet or exceed requirements. Responsibilities
Issue Resolution: Act as the primary contact for quality issues related to suppliers, facilitating prompt resolution of non-conformances. Root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related quality problems. Lead or support containment activities for supplier escapes. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of quality issues. Supplier Management: Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure standards are met and collaborate on CAPA implementation. Quality and First-Pass Yield (FPY) Improvement: Analyze supplier quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on supplier performance and quality. Lead and manage Source Inspection processes and events with Quality Control. Complete other duties as required by Supply Chain leadership. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ CQE) preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years in supply chain or quality engineering; minimum 3 years in a high-compliance environment (space, aerospace, defense, or medical). Skills: Strong understanding of quality standards and management systems (e.g., D17.1, IPC, ISO 9001, AS9100); proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools (SPC, FMEA, RCA); excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and prioritize high-value issues; AS9100 auditor certification or ability to obtain preferred. Work Environment: Primarily on-site in Arvada, Colorado; occasional travel up to 20% to supplier sites locally or domestically. ITAR and Equal Opportunity

The salary range for this role is $105,000 - $120,000. This range represents the anticipated base salary plus bonus, depending on qualifications and experience.
