Overview

Aircraft Mechanic I (Rotary Wing) – DEA Program – Fort Worth, Texas. Reports to the Lead Mechanic and performs work under FARs and a Part 145 Repair Station, supporting customer flight operations, maintenance, repairs, and modifications. Aviation Operations Center (AOC) at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas. Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft components; apply technical knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to determine malfunctions Enter aircraft logs and release aircraft for return to service when appropriate Assist in or lead tasks on complex projects as assigned; maintain schedules and work independently or under supervision Travel up to 50% to various locations as required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Technical trade school, military experience, or equivalent on-the-job training required Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as an A&P; 3 of the 5 years with experience on High Wing Cessna 206/210, King Air, Challenger, Citation, Bell 407/412, or MD-500 helicopters or similar aircraft (preferred) Experience in a position with similar responsibilities within the last 12 months; working knowledge of applicable FARs and their application to airframe and powerplant troubleshooting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs; working knowledge of composite repairs Excellent oral and written communication skills Own a reliable set of hand tools to perform A&P duties Ability to obtain a Department of Justice (DOJ) Security Clearance Valid US Passport and vaccinations for international travel Valid driver’s license Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and part replacement Basic knowledge of electrical theory Rotor and propeller track and balance experience (e.g., Chadwick, MicroVibe, RADS) Working knowledge of technical publications Ability to receive guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician; may lead more complex tasks occasionally May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and approve aircraft for service return Physical Demands

Must be able to perform aircraft maintenance in conditions that may require standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Capable of reaching with hands and arms and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Work Environment

Work is performed in an aircraft hangar with good ventilation; outdoor conditions may apply. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. Personal protective equipment is required as appropriate. Normal conditions include inside hangar with potential exposure to hot/cold, rain, wind, and other environmental factors.
