This position sits on the Data Enablement Team and will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and operationalizing governance and security controls—not writing policies, but configuring them and educating stakeholders based on requirements from additional governance/risk and tooling teams. If you’ve ever wanted to take ownership of a new governance platform and help shape how a company manages and secures its data from day one, this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you’ll be the technical expert driving governance and security implementation across a Microsoft-centric data environment. You’ll configure governance tools, enable access controls, and establish data lineage and classification frameworks — all while helping the team build trust, compliance, and visibility around data. Implement and configure data governance and security tools (Microsoft Purview, Codera, or similar). Build and manage SQL security models, access controls, and lineage tracking. Operationalize governance policies and enable best practices across teams. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and compliance teams to ensure secure, governed data usage. Contribute to ongoing data engineering and analytics work as the environment matures. WHAT YOU BRING

Proven, hands-on experience configuring data governance or cataloging tools (e.g., Purview, Codera, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.) Strong background in SQL security, role-based access control, and data protection. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or data warehousing. Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK preferred). Experience in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment (CUI, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) Excellent communication and stakeholder enablement skills — you’ll be the go-to for bringing governance to life across teams. U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (due to data compliance requirements). Preferred certifications: DP-600, DP-700, DP-900, or AZ-900 WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

Play a foundational role in implementing enterprise data governance for the first time. Blend technical execution and collaboration, working across governance, tooling, and analytics teams. Join a highly respected, security-minded organization with strong leadership support. Clear path for growth — this role will evolve into broader data engineering and analytics responsibilities. NO 3RD PARTY SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES MUST BE A US CITIZEN OR GREEN CARD HOLDER
