$160,000 - $190,000 Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the SITE III ITS Task Order and manage the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of mission applications and services for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). The ideal candidate will perform all Operation & Maintenance (O&M) tasks and maintain operational baselines and performance of application O&M activities, including patching, database performance monitoring, and customer support. When necessary, the candidate will troubleshoot database performance issues and recommend appropriate action. The candidate will work closely with project team members, product subject matter experts, end-users, and software engineers to ensure continuous operation by monitoring performance, providing technical assistance, and consulting with users. Additional duties include supporting system administrators, developing tools for system management, ensuring application documentation (e.g., System Administration Guides, SOPs, Installation Procedures), and performing daily application/database backups. Responsibilities

Maintains the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases, including monitoring availability and performance, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, conducting performance analysis and tuning, disaster backup and recovery, index maintenance, and capacity planning. Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of all databases (Development, Test, Production). Collaborates with application system administrators to plan and schedule maintenance, including routine and emergency security patching for database management systems and platforms in production. Obtains and maintains privileged user accounts in compliance with DIA security regulations and completes applicable annual user training. Maintains access control settings, user accounts and password resets, performs database backups, and reviews/archives log files. Evaluates and recommends database management system (DBMS) products. Provides support to platform system administrators with analysis and recommendations for system or performance improvements. Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure high performance, availability, and compliance with business requirements. Coordinates with vendors to resolve issues and obtain application patches to address database server software defects. Performs Oracle and PostgreSQL database and application server administration. Organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes. Updates applicable documentation. Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed for deployments. Qualifications

Education/Experience

Requires 8 years with BS/BA, or 6 years with MS/MA, or 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree. Skills

Proficient in Oracle 19c Proficient with Oracle PL/SQL and RMAN Familiarity with PostgreSQL Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019 Experience with Oracle WebLogic Experience with Linux (RHEL) Certifications

Active CompTIA Security+ CE Certification Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting DIA and the IC Experience with system accreditation process and RMF Experience installing/configuring and managing PostgreSQL and Oracle databases in a classified environment Experience with Oracle Text package Experience with Oracle Content Manager running on Oracle WebLogic (Oracle Fusion Middleware products) Experience performing database admin duties in the C2S/AWS environment Knowledge of Linux and Windows servers Familiarity with DODIIS security/builds Knowledge of API Services (DPaaS), OpenShift4, and CI/CD Seniority level
