Overview

Science Teacher SY25-26 (Washington) at Summit Public Schools. We are a network of public schools preparing diverse students for college and life. Summit operates 12 schools serving over 4,000 students in the Bay Area and Washington state. 100% of Summit graduates are college ready and graduate at double the national average. We seek exceptional, diverse, mission-aligned teachers. What You’ll Do

A student school day runs roughly 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Depending on school, teachers’ days begin no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and end no later than 5:00 p.m. Project Time: Teach 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school, per day of project time. Most teachers teach one course for the entire grade (e.g., 9th Grade Biology) and see each section twice per week. Facilitate project-based learning, coach students, and provide timely feedback. Use student progress data to guide group and individual supports. Mentor Time: Meet daily with a small group of mentees, build community, coach and advocate for students inside and outside the classroom, and support their development as self-directed learners. Self-Directed Learning Time and Interventions: Facilitate self-directed learning and daily literacy or math interventions, providing student support and progress monitoring. Collaboration & Professional Development: Participate in all-faculty after-school meetings twice a week for professional development, decision-making, and grade- or subject-level collaboration.
