Configuration Manager to develop, implement, and manage the company-wide configuration management documentation control processes under AS9100. This role will lead the establishment of configuration baselines, version-control procedures, documentation workflows, and tool integrations (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, SolidWorks PDM, Git). You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to define the rules, train teams, and enforce compliance across all programs. The Configuration Manager will be both hands-on and strategic, building the CM system from the ground up, then maintaining it as an operational cornerstone of the company. Responsibilities
Develop and Own CM Frameworks: Establish Ibeos configuration management procedures, documentation control policies, and AS9100-aligned processes. Define Documentation Rules: Create and enforce standards for document naming, numbering, revision control, and approval workflows across engineering, quality, and operations. Tool Integration: Implement and manage configuration workflows across Jira, SharePoint, Git, PDM, and Confluence; ensure data accessibility, consistency, and auditability. QMS Collaboration: Partner with the Quality department to align CM processes with maturing the Quality Management Training & Governance. Deliver user training, create quick-reference guides, and serve as the go-to resource for all CM and documentation-related questions. Change Control Management: Lead the Engineering Change Order (ECO), Deviations, and Release Review Board (RRB) processes across multiple product lines. Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external AS9100 audits; ensure traceability from requirements through design, test, and release. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify bottlenecks in document control, workflow inefficiencies, or version conflicts, and implement systemic solutions. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Systems, or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in configuration management, document control, or data management within an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment Proven experience administering configuration control tools Strong knowledge of document lifecycle management, version control, and release workflows Exceptional organizational and communication skills Ability to lead cross-functional teams and enforce compliance in a collaborative way Preferred Qualifications
Experience establishing AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar documentation control systems from scratch Knowledge of SolidWorks PDM, Git, Jira, Confluence, Atlassian Suite, and engineering document hierarchies (drawings, ICDs, test plans, travelers) Familiarity with engineering change control (ECOs), configuration baselines, and PLM principles Basic understanding of aerospace documentation: travelers, assembly procedures, and drawing releases Experience creating or supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS) Training or certification in CMII, PMP, or quality systems (a plus but not required) Work Location & Eligibility
On-site in Northern Virginia (Sterling, Virginia) US Citizen or Permanent Resident required (Export-controlled work) Occasional lab time, customer visits, or environmental testing as needed (less than 1% travel) How to Apply
