Weekend Shift

— Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a

Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

in Kennedy Space Center, Florida to plan and author procedures for the

Orion Spacecraft Elements Team

and provide floor support for Mechanical Integration environments.

Performs various duties including creating and/or developing mechanical manufacturing work instructions.

Determines the sequence of build, selects or designs required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical piece parts and assemblies.

Assists in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management.

Develops and maintains all assembly documentation.

Troubleshoot/correct anomalies and discrepant hardware.

Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs/drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability.

Routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership.

Ability to work Sunday through Thursday is required for this role.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree (Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical/Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.

Experience in review of engineering drawings and as a floor liaison.

Experience and understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.

Willingness and ability to work 2nd & 3rd shift, as needed.

Experience and understanding of SAP (VE CAMS) or similar software for generating manufacturing work instructions and engineering/manufacturing bill of materials.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports; ability to write reports and maintain accurate documentation.

Desired Skills

Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.

Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems tools (STARS, Automation Framework, EPDM) or industry equivalent.

Experience with CAD/CAM software such as CreoParametric, CreoView, EdgeCAM, Delmia.

Experience with structural/regulatory installations in mechanical environments, and with electrical, structural, avionics, and mechanism installations.

Experience in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

CNC knowledge and understanding of production manufacturing and assembly processes.

Experience in a Test and Requirements Verification environment; SV Test Operations experience including test development, execution, data analysis, anomaly resolution and satellite software test systems.

Certified Test Conductor (CTC) with SV Integration and Test experience across Baseline Ambient, Full Functional, Thermal Vacuum, Acoustic, EMC/EMI, Final Functional, and Launch Base Operations.
