Role/Responsibilities: Plans and authors procedures for the Orion Spacecraft elements and provides floor support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Performs duties including creating and developing harness installation and component integration, and manufacturing work instructions. Determines the sequence of build, selects or designs required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies. Assists in investigating design/manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management. Develops and maintains all assembly documentation. Troubleshoots and corrects anomalies and discrepant hardware. Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs/drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability. Routinely interfaces with program personnel and reports project status to leadership. Supports 3rd shift (Monday-Friday, approximately 9:30 pm - 6:00 am). Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of experience or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes. Experience with Engineering Change Management. Experience evaluating and dispositioning non-conformant hardware. Minimum 1 year experience using SAP or similar ERP/MES software for generating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structures, and MBOM. Experience with harness assembly, instrumentations, and electrical component installations. Experience reviewing engineering drawings and providing technical support on the production floor. Understanding of configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar. Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Creo, CreoView, EdgeCAM, Delmia. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Position located at KSC, FL, with ability to travel as needed. Willingness to train on first shift and then work third shift, adjusting schedule for off-shifts and weekends if necessary.
