This position focuses on customer service and collaboration with project teams, architects, engineers, specialty contractors, and other stakeholders. The Senior Estimator prepares budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects and reviews plans/specifications for constructability and value engineering. Some supervision of other estimators and interns is required. ROLE OVERVIEW The Senior Estimator role includes responsibilities beyond budgeting and estimating, supporting the success of our customers, internal teammates, and external partners. This position reports to the Director of Preconstruction and may supervise other estimators and intern students. Key Responsibilities

Provide budgeting and estimating services, and coordinate with the project team for pre-bid and preconstruction/estimating activities. Use computer software to calculate estimates and analyze blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates. Prepare conceptual budget estimates for projects in Schematic Design and Design Development stages; evaluate and compile budgets and bids (conceptual estimating, hard bids, and negotiated bid work). Demonstrate basic conceptual estimating skills by interpolating data and synthesizing cost data from multiple sources into a conceptual estimate. Analyze and determine the approach for various project delivery types (Lump Sum, Cost Plus, GMP, CM at Risk). Recruit, source, and build relationships with specialty contractors and vendors; establish and maintain positive client relationships with owners, design teams, PM/CMs, and subcontractors/suppliers. Build and maintain relationships with architects and engineers; manage a relationship plan with owners and key stakeholders. Organize and present prepared estimates in construction division format to clients, architects, and engineers; complete accurate take-offs and internal estimates per division. Solicit bids from the specialty contractor market; prepare qualifications and assumptions aligned with contract requirements and incorporate them into proposals. Obtain clarifications on plans and specifications and integrate them into proposals; review and approve proposals, bids, and vendor submissions. Coordinate project schedule review to ensure timely preparation of General Conditions/Field Services with trade packages; attend pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required. Represent Muckleroy & Falls in design and coordination meetings; lead meetings on projects, maintain an action log, and assign responsibilities. Maintain scope issue log and compile pricing with assistance from estimating as needed; maintain cost data bases and industry knowledge. Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues; collect and organize bid information for future reference. Participate in formal project pursuit approaches and assist in submission deliverables (estimate, general conditions, field services, logistics plan, schedule, clarifications/qualifications, interview process). Build project schedules with Microsoft Project; support business development and maintain customer relationships; assist with subcontractor buy-outs on specific projects as needed. Assist in training other preconstruction/estimating staff; attend industry events and represent the company professionally; stay current with estimating technology and techniques. Identify constructability issues and potential code violations; may supervise other estimators and interns. Core Competencies

Leadership, honesty, loyalty, work ethic. Four-year bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in construction science/management. Four or more years of experience estimating commercial construction projects in the $5M to $50M+ range. Ability to analyze and interpret drawings and specifications; general knowledge of construction principles and processes. High-level conceptual estimating ability; ability to manage a design to a budget; multitasking and meeting deliverables. Procurement expertise for construction work; strong math and analytical skills; attention to detail. Proficiency with appropriate software; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
