Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing electrical contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. With decades of experience delivering quality workmanship and dependable service, the company is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their pre construction and estimating team.
Position Summary The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and specifications. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed electrical estimates.
Perform material take-offs, labor estimates, and subcontractor / vendor pricing analysis.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
Develop and maintain cost databases, historical records, and estimating tools.
Identify value engineering opportunities to enhance project competitiveness.
Participate in bid reviews, proposal presentations, and post-bid clarifications.
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
Support business development efforts with conceptual and budgetary estimates.
Ensure all estimates align with company standards, safety practices, and client requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial or industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of NEC codes, construction practices, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in estimating software (such as Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, or Trimble) and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple bids simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
