Job description: The Associate Director, Supply Planning is responsible for the operations and strategic design of the US Medical Device & Aesthetics global supply planning organization, supporting significant revenue streams. Responsibilities include translating demand into inventory and replenishment plans, developing short- and long-term inventory and supply assurance strategies, scenario planning and risk mitigation, order management and execution of replenishment activities from AbbVie sources, distribution centers, and third-party manufacturers, and coordinating with affiliates and other customers on inventory timing. Scenario planning with key stakeholders is critical for launches, LOE and transfers. The team also manages significant cash flow.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership to the US Medical Device & Aesthetics Supply Planning team; ensure product availability to meet brand strategic and financial needs while balancing IME/TPM plan requirements.
Resolve supply disruptions, capacity constraints, or other issues affecting product availability; communicate challenges to senior Operations leaders.
Lead strategic programs to enhance planning capabilities; develop business cases for change with senior management.
Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities; sponsor projects to implement improvements.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Distribution & Logistics, Operations Brand Management, Demand Planning, Commercial, Quality, Internal Manufacturing & Engineering, External Supply and Finance.
Oversee the partnership between Supply Planning and manufacturing sites and external suppliers; ensure success of joint planning processes.
Deliver short- and long-term financial, customer service, and other performance goals for the Supply Chain organization.
Be a member of the Global Supply Planning leadership team; support global supply strategy development and deployment.
Motivate, coach, and develop managers and supervisors; foster AbbVie culture and a positive, motivated team environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Management required.
MBA strongly preferred.
10+ years in Operations with strong experience in Supply Chain and Manufacturing; pharmaceutical manufacturing experience desired.
Pharmaceutical/Medical Devices experience required.
Excellent leadership and people management experience required.
Strategic mindset with ability to think at an enterprise level.
Strong communication skills and executive presence for interactions with senior leaders.
Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders.
Proven success in leading effective teams and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.
Proven ability to manage, implement, and influence large change management programs.
