— This role is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. A caregiver in this position performs and interprets tests at all complexity levels, demonstrates understanding of the theory and scientific principles of laboratory testing, and shows the technical, procedural and problem-solving aspects. Maintain a questioning attitude to determine patient care results. This is a full-time position with hours from 11:00pm – 7:30am. We hire clinical laboratory testing personnel in three job titles based on educational background. Responsibilities

Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain regulatory knowledge as it pertains to specific job duties. Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document quality control activities, calibrations and maintenance performed. Assume responsibility for quality control and quality assurance issues related to job duties. Maintain instruments and equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications. Ensure good documentation practices with clear and legible records. Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations, including analysis of proficiency survey samples and accurate documentation and result reporting. Participate in continuing education, professional development and annual competency assessment. Follow established policies and procedures when test systems are not within acceptable performance levels. Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting and take corrective action or notify supervision as appropriate. May function as an educator, providing instruction and training on theory, technical skills, safety protocols, and application of laboratory test protocols. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

include: Associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from a four-year college or university OR meets the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering Education outside the United States requires translated diplomas/transcripts and proof of foreign equivalency from a recognized agency Preferred qualifications Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT or MLS) or certification eligible from ASCP or AMT Other information

Physical Requirements: Visual acuity to study specimens under a microscope; ability to differentiate color; fine motor skills; may be required to stand for long periods; light lifting; potential exposure to hazardous materials.
