Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to support and enhance mission-critical legacy systems within the Global Information Security organization at a major financial institution. This role involves maintaining high-performance applications, modernizing legacy codebases, and ensuring seamless data integration across platforms. The candidate will design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and SAS in a z/OS environment, optimize JCL for batch processing, and manage DB2 data structures and queries. They will analyze and resolve production issues, conduct code reviews, tune DB2 programs for performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and support integration with modern platforms and APIs. The role also includes participating in system upgrades and migrations, ensuring thorough documentation of technical processes, and maintaining compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires on-site presence five days a week in Addison, TX. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and SAS in a z/OS environment. Optimize JCL for batch processing and manage DB2 data structures and queries. Analyze and resolve production issues; conduct code reviews; tune DB2 programs for performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and support integration with modern platforms and APIs. Participate in system upgrades and migrations; maintain thorough documentation of technical processes. Ensure compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements. Required Skills and Experience

8+ years of experience in COBOL and SAS programming. 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB2 in a mainframe environment. Strong knowledge of JCL, IBM utilities, and REX DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG). Experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization. Nice to Have Skills and Experience

Experience in financial services and Identity and Access Management. Familiarity with NDM, FTP, and batch file processing. Knowledge of Agile or hybrid SDLC methodologies. Experience with debugging tools (e.g., Xpediter, Abend-AID) and source control (e.g., ISPW). Knowledge of CICS, VSAM, ISPF Panels, Easytrieve, and APIs. Certifications in DB2 or mainframe technologies. Seniority level
