Overview

The Lab IT Support Specialist provides technical support for laboratory environments, ensuring that scientific teams have reliable access to hardware, software, and secure data systems. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting with compliance-driven processes to maintain productivity and integrity in regulated research settings. Key Responsibilities

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for lab users, including desktops, laptops, and specialized scientific workstations. Install, configure, and maintain lab-related software applications (e.g., LIMS, ELN, instrument control software). Troubleshoot connectivity issues between lab instruments and network systems, ensuring minimal downtime. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), and other identity platforms. Support conference room and collaboration technologies for lab meetings (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom). Assist with onboarding/offboarding of lab personnel, including device setup and access provisioning. Document all support activities and maintain compliance with GxP, FDA, and organizational IT standards. Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to resolve escalated issues and maintain secure lab environments. Participate in IT projects such as hardware refreshes, software rollouts, and system upgrades for lab systems. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 2-4 years in IT support, preferably in a laboratory or life sciences environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and identity/access management tools. Familiarity with lab-specific applications and compliance standards (GxP, FDA). Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk). Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service mindset. Preferred Certifications

CompTIA A+ or Network+ Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate ITIL Foundation Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
