The Data Forge Center of Excellence (COE) translates raw data into actionable insights that reduce program risk, accelerate schedule, and improve cost performance across the enterprise. What You Will Be Doing Strategic Leadership:
Define the Data Forge roadmap aligned with MFC and enterprise digital transformation goals.
Build and evolve the COE operating model (intake, prioritization, governance).
Team Management:
Lead a growing team of analysts, data engineers, and ML specialists (current size ≈ 7; projected ≥ 20).
Mentor, coach, and conduct performance reviews; create career pathways.
Solution Delivery:
Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of products (applications, dashboards, predictive models, APIs, etc.) from concept to release.
Ensure SLA‑based turnaround (e.g., 90 % of high‑priority use cases delivered within 4 weeks).
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with simulation, program management, and engineering leads to capture high‑value use cases.
Prioritize the backlog using impact‑vs‑effort analysis and executive steering committee input.
Partner with IT and 1LMX product leads to influence data choices, business processes, and standards that enable AI benefits downstream.
Technical Excellence:
Champion data analytics technologies and stacks such as cloud data storage, data lakes, hybrid architectures, ETL pipelines (Airflow), database and data modeling (SQL), traditional dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau), and data security (user RBAC technologies).
Establish sub‑team business rhythms that support the business objectives.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement:
Define KPIs (time to insight, adoption rates, cost avoidance).
Conduct quarterly retrospectives and drive process refinements.
Desired Skills
Strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
Experience working in a production environment, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
Work Schedule & Telework First shift, 4 × 10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.
