Overview
American Civil Constructors West Coast, established in 1987, is a Heavy Civil Construction company qualified to bid and perform work for State DOTs and City & County Public Works agencies across the United States. We are hiring for full-time field engineers to work out of our McLeansville, NC office. This position will require working remotely in the field as projects are underway. Travel to projects local and nationwide is required. This is a full-time, year-round position with time split between office and field. American Civil Constructors West Coast is part of, and has the backing of, MasTec, Inc., a Fortune 500 parent company. We specialize in retrofitting and repairing bridges and performing specialized pavement overlays for various DOTs and Public Works Agencies. We are growing and seeking knowledgeable, dedicated individuals to join our team. Our crews and management team work together to complete high-quality work in a timely manner. Responsibilities
Production scheduling Handling project submittals and RFIs Tracking production, inventory, subcontracts, and purchase orders Coordinating and supervising varying work schedules (day/night work) Drafting value engineering change proposals Submitting daily reports and progress billings Preparing quantity take-offs, work and traffic control plans, job and material billings, and reviewing/submitting test results Preparing project schedule updates Working closely with Project Managers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, DOT/Public Works Representatives and other Prime Contractors Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management. Other majors may be considered on a case-by-case basis Prior experience in construction is desired, but not required Desired Experience: 0-4 years Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications; multitask in a challenging construction environment Excellent computer skills, including strong Microsoft Excel skills Willingness to learn, good organizational and time management skills, ability to work as a team, strong communication skills (verbal and written) Enthusiasm and the ability to work without direct supervision Primavera P6 is highly desired, but not required Valid driver’s license required What’s In It For You
