Texas General Land Office . The Texas General Land Office is seeking a Financial Analyst III within the Financial Management Department of the agency. The Financial Analyst III performs advanced (senior-level) financial analysis and regulatory work and works under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities
Administer financial processes and systems developed to oversee financial or other regulated entities. Develop and maintain comprehensive sources of examination-related policies and procedures. Integrate conflicting programmatic and financial objectives into recommendations for agency management. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is generally preferred. Eight (8) years of full-time experience in one or more of the following fields: accounting, auditing, budget preparation/analysis, financial, statistical analysis, business, public administration, or closely related experience. Education and experience may be substituted for one another. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of full-time experience with Texas statewide accounting/budgetary systems (USAS or CAPPS) performing financial/accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, or financial audit duties. Familiarity with other financial systems or processes such as SIRS Reports, Comptroller Fiscal Policies and Procedures, Federal Funds management, Texas legislative process, researching and analyzing state statutes, and/or the Texas GAA. Preferred licenses/certifications: CGFM, CPA, AFE, CFE, or Certified Financial Examiner. Physical Requirements
This position primarily involves sedentary office work; mobility is required to carry out some duties. It requires extensive computer, telephone and client/customer contact and communication, the ability to move and position oneself for filing and routine office tasks, and normal cognitive abilities to learn, recall, and apply practices and policies. The ability to read printed materials and computer screens is required. The role may involve moving and transporting records and materials up to 20 pounds when needed. Compensation And Benefits
