Controller
to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions. The firm manages a large portfolio, including more than 6,000 apartments, with approximately half designated as affordable housing. The Role
As Controller, you will oversee and optimise all accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely reporting and compliance, and support the leadership team in maintaining strong financial stewardship across the portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role within a mission-driven organisation, offering the chance to make a significant impact. Key Responsibilities
Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close process; oversee general ledger, AP/AR and payroll. Prepare and present financial reports, budgets and cash-flow forecasts for senior leadership and stakeholders. Ensure full compliance with affordable housing regulations, tax credit programs, HUD or analogous funding sources, and audit requirements. Lead, develop and mentor an accounting team, fostering a collaborative culture. Strong proficiency in Yardi Voyager required Partner with senior leadership to strengthen internal controls, improve financial processes and support operational growth. Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience in affordable housing, property management or real–estate development. Deep knowledge of affordable housing compliance and reporting requirements (e.g., tax credit program, Section 8, funding sources, property management controls). Expert in Yardi Voyager (or equivalent property/asset management software) and strong technology acumen. Analytical, detail-oriented and mission-driven, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Why This Role
