The Senior Manager, Human Resources (SMHR) is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. As a senior member of the Human Resources Department, this position works with the Vice President, Human Resources (VPHR) to manage all responsibilities related to the entire employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and terminations. This position, in conjunction with the VPHR, provides leadership, guidance, and counsel on policies involving labor relations, compliance issues (affirmative action, EEO, safety, worker’s compensation), and payroll/benefits administration. Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategy with staffing, recruiting, and retention goals. Lead recruiting process, including ATS management, job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks, and background checks. Oversee employee engagement/retention programs, events, and internal communications. Perform new hire onboarding, ensuring accuracy in HRIS data and required documentation; conduct initial compliance training (Customer Service, Harassment, GDPR). Administer employee benefits, including orientation, Employee Navigator enrollment, Open Enrollment, FMLA documentation, and payroll deductions. Assist in administering bi-weekly payroll; act as backup for Payroll & Benefits Coordinator; ensure accurate reporting to accounting. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required. 7–10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including payroll administration, benefits, employee relations, and engagement. Technical knowledge of HRIS systems and HR compliance. PHR or SPHR certification preferred, but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Proficiency with HRIS platforms and benefits administration tools. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Maintain personnel files and HRIS records. Prepare monthly turnover reports for both regional and U.S. offices. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Develop, review, and implement HR policies and office procedures; train managers on updates. Provide guidance to supervisors on employee relations issues. Manage employee performance platform: maintain data accuracy, review forms, follow up with managers, ensure SMART goals. Other duties as assigned. Role details
