New York State Unified Court System, Appellate Division Fourth Department is recruiting for one position in the Attorney Series. The position will be in one of the following titles depending on qualifications and experience: Associate Attorney, Senior Attorney, Attorney, or Assistant Attorney. The role will provide representation of the mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and incarcerated individuals who are facing civil commitment. Present cases before administrative tribunals and courts. Research and analyze legal questions and issues. Prepare confidential reports, memoranda, legal papers and briefs. Interview litigants, witnesses and other parties to administrative and judicial proceedings. Draft correspondence related to case inquiries. Extensive travel without reliance on public carriers is necessary for this position. Qualifications
Associate Attorney:
Admission to the New York State Bar and two (2) years of service in the Senior Attorney title; or equivalent legal experience. Base Salary: $110,853. Senior Attorney:
Admission to the New York State Bar and two (2) years of service in the Attorney title; or equivalent legal experience. Base Salary: $99,490. Attorney:
Admission to the New York State Bar. Base Salary: $84,659. Assistant Attorney:
