Overview

Base pay range : $70,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr The Estimator is responsible for reviewing and analyzing invitations to bid and related project documents—including proposals, schedules, blueprints, and specifications—to determine project scope and estimate labor, material, and time requirements. Depending on the project type (tenant improvement or core and shell), size, and complexity, the Estimator identifies all cost-impacting elements and collaborates with general contractor clients, internal estimating teams, and project management to resolve potential issues. Using estimating software, production databases, and professional experience, the Estimator prepares accurate and timely bid estimates and maintains strong client relationships from bid submission through award. Responsibilities

Review and analyze project proposals, blueprints, and specifications to determine scope and cost requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates by calculating labor, material, and time requirements. Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant data and clarifications. Present prepared estimates with supporting numerical and descriptive documentation. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Maintain and back up cost databases for future reference and accuracy. Collaborate with project management to develop bidder lists and evaluate subcontractor proposals and scopes of work. Supervise and mentor junior estimators, interns, or project engineers as needed. Obtain clarifications from architects and engineers regarding plans and specifications. Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Prepare project budgets and assist in project cost control during execution. Ensure compliance with company standards, schedules, and client expectations. Required Experience & Skills

3–5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, specifically metal stud framing, drywall, and related systems (lath & plaster, scaffolding, EIFS, acoustical ceilings). Proficiency in Quick Bid and On-Screen Takeoff is required. Strong knowledge of:

Civil/site construction Foundation and structural systems Metals, casework, doors, specialties Interior and exterior finishes Mechanical and electrical systems

Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Resourceful and adaptable in solving problems and managing new challenges. Senior level
