Buyer (Timberland Americas) What will you do?

A day in the life of a Buyer at Timberland looks a little like this. We are seeking a strategic and fashion‑savvy Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for selecting, purchasing, and managing inventory of footwear, apparel, and accessories products that align with our brand identity and customer preferences. This role requires strong analytical skills, trend awareness, and vendor negotiation capabilities to drive sales and profitability. Let’s break down that day‑in‑the‑life a bit more. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and historical sales data to forecast demand. Select and purchase footwear, apparel, and accessories that align with brand strategy and seasonal sales targets. Work closely with merchandising to identify carryover and new product needs that align with brand strategy. Collaborate with planning and allocation teams to manage inventory levels and open-to-buy budgets. Track product performance and adjust buying strategies to maximize sales and minimize markdowns. Partner with marketing and visual merchandising teams to align product assortment with brand campaigns. Monitor expected deliveries and manage receipt flow in coordination with supply chain team. Lead buy review meetings to share each season's key product strategies with store, visual, and marketing partners. Partner with merchandising and allocation on new store assortments that align with each location's selling and backroom capacity. What do you need to succeed?

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or related field Buying experience in footwear, apparel, or fashion retail Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills Proficiency in Excel and merchandising systems (e.g., PLM, ERP) Deep understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and retail math Preferred skills

Familiarity with garment construction and footwear manufacturing processes Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Passion for fashion and trend forecasting Hiring range and incentives

Hiring Range: $68,000.00 USD - $85,000.00 USD annually Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
