Director of Donor Engagement and Communications role at Sun Health Foundation in Surprise, AZ. Key Responsibilities

Donor Communications & Engagement (Primary Focus): Lead the development and execution of integrated donor communications strategies across print, digital, and social media channels. Serve as editorial lead for donor-facing materials including cases for support, solicitation appeals, impact reports, newsletters, donor spotlights, stewardship pieces, and annual publications. Partner with Marketing, internal departments, and external vendors to highlight the impact of philanthropy and ensure brand consistency. Partner across departments including two hospital partners, Banner Sun Health Research Institute and Sun Health Wellness programs to identify impact stories and highlight the value of philanthropy. Develop campaign communications, including messaging, segmentation, timelines, and tracking of engagement metrics. Support internal communications to promote a culture of giving among employees. Analyze effectiveness of communications strategies to optimize ROI and inform fundraising decisions. Operations & Data Management: Oversee donor database management and ensure data integrity, reporting, and analytics to drive informed fundraising strategies. Supervise Raiser's Edge optimization for donor tracking, segmentation, prospect research, and campaign performance reporting. Collaborate with fundraising teams to align communications and donor engagement strategies with overall fundraising goals. Program Oversight & Volunteer Engagement: Oversee the Foundation's volunteer program, including recruitment, training, engagement, and recognition of volunteers. Provide scholarship program oversight, including application processing, selection, award disbursement, and donor reporting. Provide direction and leadership for corporate events, ensuring alignment with donor engagement, stewardship, and fundraising objectives. Other Responsibilities: Actively promotes and protects the brand to ensure staff and the public are aware of the organization's mission, vision, and current/upcoming fundraising initiatives. Support executive communications, including speeches, board presentations, and philanthropic updates. Stay current on industry trends in donor communications, fundraising analytics, and nonprofit media outreach. Adhere to Sun Health's mission, vision, values, and all applicable organizational policies. Manage four direct reports: Manager of Corporate and Community Events; Database Administrator & Prospect Research Specialist; Donor Relations & Annual Giving Coordinator; and Development Coordinator. Other duties as assigned. Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred: Master's degree; CFRE certification; fundraising experience in healthcare, research, or Centers of Excellence. Minimum five years' experience in donor communications, marketing, or public relations within a nonprofit setting; at least eight years preferred if including fundraising operations. Minimum three years' supervisory or team leadership experience. Expertise in donor communications strategy, storytelling, and campaign management. Experience overseeing volunteer programs, scholarship programs, and fundraising events. Proficiency with Raiser's Edge and Microsoft Office; familiarity with data analytics and segmentation strategies. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including speechwriting, editorial oversight, and publication development. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills. Possess current or can obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required. Team Member Benefits
