Offer Description The Faculty of Medicine of the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and the University Hospital Frankfurt, Institute for Medical Education and Clinical Simulation (Direktion: Prof. Dr. med. Miriam Rüsseler, MME), invites applications for the following position as public employee starting as soon as possible:
Professorship (W2) of Interprofessional Teaching Research in the Health Professions With the professorship, you will represent the subject in research, teaching and advanced training. Your tasks include the integration of interprofessional approaches into the various study programmes in the health professions at the Faculty of Medicine and the training courses and continuing education programmes at the Health Campus University Medicine Frankfurt Rhine-Main – on didactic, scientific and professional level. In addition, it includes the organizational and subject‑specific programme management of the Midwifery Science and Medical Technology study programmes (and, if necessary, other study programmes might be added, once they have been established). You will be responsible for the conceptual development of new digital and non‑digital teaching and examination formats, particularly in the interprofessional context of all degree programmes at the Faculty of Medicine. This includes in particular the development of further interprofessional training wards and their scientific support, as well as interprofessional simulation training. You will also be responsible for expanding the close cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine, University Medicine, the Health Campus and the teaching hospitals and cooperating hospitals.
Responsibilities We are looking for an integrative personality who is qualified to represent the field of interprofessionalism in the academic education of healthcare professionals in research, teaching and continuing education at the university in a forward‑looking manner. You have an internationally recognised track record in research on interprofessionalism in health professions and have successfully acquired competitive third‑party funding (e.g., from the DFG, BMBF, EU, or similar).
Requirements Degree in human medicine (MD), a doctorate (PhD or Dr. med.), a habilitation or equivalent academic achievements, and substantial research experience with relevant national and international publications in the field of medical education and learning research. An additional qualification in pedagogy and/or medical education (e.g. a Master’s degree) is advantageous. We expect documented pedagogical expertise and extensive experience in interprofessional teaching and learning, ideally supported by corresponding teaching evaluations.
Through your research activities, successful acquisition of third‑party funding, and support for early‑career researchers, you will contribute to the academic development and advancement of the university’s research and teaching profile as well as to innovation in healthcare practice. You are experienced in supervising doctoral and graduate theses and in managing interprofessional clinical teaching units. Furthermore, you are expected to have strong leadership skills combined with a team‑oriented, family‑friendly management style.
The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67, and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
