EXTRA is a leading entertainment news brand delivering celebrity interviews, live red carpets, pop-culture coverage and trending video content across broadcast and social platforms. We’re seeking a creative, hands-on Digital Content Creator to produce short-form video that drives audience growth, engagement, brand loyalty, and revenue. Summary of Position The Digital Content Creator will ideate, shoot, edit, and publish compelling video content for Extra’s social channels and digital platforms. This person must combine strong storytelling instincts and production skills with a deep understanding of social-first formats and trends. The role is hands-on: you’ll be responsible for concepting, editing, producing and optimizing videos that capture moments, amplify talent and perform across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter/X. Responsibilities
Work closely with the show’s producers in executing a strategy for daily video content across all social channels. Produce and edit video content for social, primarily short-form vertical (TikTok/Reels/YouTube Shorts). Concept and pitch creative, shareable video ideas that align with the brand and platform strategies. Edit quickly and accurately using Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar — deliver platform-ready exports with captions, graphics, and sound mix. Create and implement eye-catching motion graphics, lower thirds and quick cuts (After Effects or equivalent experience preferred). Work with producers, hosts and talent to plan shoots, storyboard concepts and execute creative direction. Optimize content for platform performance: thumbnail selection, captions, hooks, hashtags, and A/B testing ideas. Maintain organized media and project files; manage delivery schedules and asset handoffs. Stay current on social trends, emerging platforms and best practices for entertainment content. Qualifications
2–5+ years producing and editing video for social or digital-first entertainment brands (TV experience a plus). Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and audio tools. Demonstrable portfolio or reel showing social-first videos, strong storytelling and fast edits. Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and platform nuances. Camera operation experience (DSLR/mirrorless/camcorder), lighting and on-location production skills. Excellent creative ideation, storytelling, and headline/caption writing skills. Fast, organized, deadline-driven, able to turn around content under tight timeframes. Strong communicator and collaborator across editorial and production teams. Familiarity with social analytics and optimizing content performance. Work well in a fast-paced environment, deadline-driven, and work quickly and efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must love TV! Salary is between $70K-$90K per year.
