Overview
Director of Housekeeping role at Bedrock Healthcare, Watertown, WI. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct the housekeeping and laundry operations to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility. Develop and implement cleaning schedules for resident rooms, common areas, offices, and support spaces. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff; ensure proper staffing levels and productivity. Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met. Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and sanitation guidelines (OSHA, CDC, CMS, and state health regulations). Manage the department’s inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as needed. Develop and manage departmental budget; monitor expenditures and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, and other departments to coordinate services and resolve housekeeping-related issues. Respond promptly to resident and family concerns related to housekeeping services. Maintain records of cleaning logs, staff schedules, safety trainings, and supply usage. Participate in facility meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Knowledge of federal, state, and local long-term care regulations and infection control standards. Ability to train, coach, and supervise staff effectively. Proficient in inventory management and basic computer systems (Microsoft Office, scheduling software). Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Work Environment: Long-term care facility with exposure to residents, cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids (with proper PPE), and varying temperatures. Benefits
