Overview
Dining Room Manager position at Danbury Senior Living. We are seeking applicants for a Dining Manager/Hostess role who will ensure proper service in the manner most pleasing to residents and guests, and uphold high standards of appearance, hospitality and service from dining service staff. The Dining Manager works under the direction of the Executive Chef and provides assistance in all dining functions and oversees dining serving staff. Pay and Schedule
Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr Hours between 7am-7pm. Responsibilities
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment. Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all community staff to ensure dining service meets residents’ needs. Serve as liaison with chef/cook and dining servers. Ensure department staff, residents, visitors, etc., follow established policies and procedures at all times. Assist dining servers; take orders as necessary. Take reservations. Greet and seat residents and guests. Ensure proper appearance and cleanliness of the dining room setup. Record menus of residents on meal tickets. Monitor and assist in serving meals in a timely manner. Monitor and assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties per policies and procedures. Assist chef/cook in preparing meals as directed. Monitor and assist in checking diet trays before distribution. Monitor and assist in food preparation for special meals and events. Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment; inspect food service areas for sanitation, order and safety. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Executive Director.
Qualifications
Experience in Dining Management preferred. Dining experience in senior living, assisted living or similar setting required. Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, visitors, government agencies and the general public. Team player with a positive, collaborative approach. Willingness to work harmoniously with others, with patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm. Maintain sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties in dining service areas. Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into current practices.
