The position of IT Network Administrator in primary datacenter. Position has shared responsibility for maintaining the network infrastructure. You will assist in setting the strategic direction of the network and all components. Support of the current infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, Windows and Linux servers, VMware, (Veritas) BackupExec, Veeam, Symantec Endpoint Management, Internal Websites, Thycotic Secret Server, Nagios network monitor, switches, wireless networks, Cisco NGFW (firewalls), voice system, act as first level internal support for the IT helpdesk.
Responsibilities
Required 365 24x7 availability as required to maintain 99.999% uptime
Perform other duties and work off shift as required
Assist the development of network infrastructure to support current and future growth
Ensure documentation and network maps are up to date and secured
Administer and maintain segmented network environment
Review and ensure all backup systems are functioning properly
Review and monitor production environments for performance and eliminate bottlenecks
Troubleshoot and test production systems to maintain availability and optimization
Maintain network infrastructure by performing upgrades as needed
Provide hardware support for network equipment and components, including software/hardware installation and troubleshooting
Support Internal users including the helpdesk, desktop support
Schedule and monitor all server backups, windows and Linux
Setup of new users in AD and O365 including all security/distribution groups, Entra and Intune, and Laptops
Manage all MS applications
Administer all Linux and Windows Server systems in Bedford and HQ
Administer assist ,configurations of Linux servers at EDI
Administer HQ wireless system and Door security and alarms
Reports on site at the Bedford Datacenter and Marlborough office locations as required
Education
B.S. in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience and Skills
5+ years of relevant experience
Strong demonstrated knowledge of Linux
Strong demonstrated knowledge of networking security, VLAN, firewalls, content filtering
Strong knowledge of switch technology including Cisco and Juniper
Experience in the following technologies: Cisco Firewall, Cisco VPN, VMware, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Veeam
SaaS applications, Mimecast, MetaCompliance, Halcyon, Radiant, Slack, and Varonis
Strong knowledge of MS O365, SharePoint, and Teams
Best Practices and knowledge of AWS and Azure (Entra/Intune)
Strong documentation skills (SOPs, Work Instructions, Visio diagrams)
Strong knowledge of Linux systems
