The Idaho Division of Veterans Services is recruiting for a full-time

Technical Records Specialist 1

position at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Post Falls. The employee works full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate must be able to adapt to change, ensure quality work, and maintain confidentiality. The role involves analyzing, researching, forecasting, and reconciling invoices and other financial documents; ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and policies; and performing related work. Responsibilities

Analyze, research, forecast, and reconcile invoices and other financial documents. Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and policies; perform related work. Verify benefits, fill out authorization forms, and maintain current records in collaboration with staff, insurance companies, and residents. Work with staff, insurance companies, residents, and/or public officials to identify and resolve non-routine issues. Operate the main switchboard to answer calls with accuracy and friendliness; greet residents and visitors; manage walk-in traffic. Distribute mail to appropriate departments and residents; monitor cash box and reconcile resident accounts. Review, complete, and process financial documents for compliance and proper approval. Use computer systems to retrieve, enter, and edit financial data. Engage with business representatives and/or the public to resolve issues involving laws and regulations. Minimum Qualifications

Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Minimum Qualification Specialties

Some knowledge of: Medical terminology and the general benefits of Medicaid, Medicare, and major insurance companies. Financial record keeping; bookkeeping practices; payroll methods. Experience

Using spreadsheet software; storing, retrieving, and compiling information in a report format using database software. Working with sensitive or restricted data. Using MS Excel and MS Access software. EEO/ADA/Veteran
