Overview The Idaho Department of Insurance (DOI) is seeking a Technical Records Specialist 1 in the Licensing section. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and provide excellent customer service. The selected candidate will be a key player working with the Licensing Supervisor in the Company Activities Bureau.
Responsibilities
Work with insurance professionals submitting applications or renewing licenses via an electronic system for over twelve license types.
Assist vendors in maintaining compliant continuing education courses.
Provide information and education to customers on licensing protocols and procedures in a professional and courteous manner.
Answer questions from insurance professionals by phone, email, and other communication channels.
Respond to license-related inquiries, consult with licensees, and resolve issues.
Participate in meetings, trainings, industry conference calls, and webinars to learn about insurance topics.
Maintain accurate records, review website forms/templates, and update procedures as needed.
Develop and provide reports and correspondence related to licensing.
Minimum Qualifications
At least one year of full-time work experience monitoring a records system and correcting errors.
At least one year of experience analyzing information, researching, and resolving complex problems.
At least one year of experience reviewing documents/actions for compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and explaining how they apply to specific situations.
At least one year of experience entering and retrieving data in a computerized records system.
Desired Candidate (Not Required)
Effective business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
Maintaining strict confidentiality of non-public information.
Analyze, interpret, and explain complex information and documents.
Use Adobe Pro (or equivalent) to create and edit PDF documents.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Supplemental Information The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a fingerprint background check prior to hire date and every five years thereafter.
