Overview
Postdoctoral Fellow position at the University of South Florida. The role involves conducting research under faculty supervision, performing in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experiments, data analysis, and contributing to publications and presentations. Responsibilities
Collaborates on ongoing research projects. Performs experiments using live animals (in vivo), human and animal cadaveric tissues (ex vivo), cell biology and molecular biology experiments (in vitro), imaging, flow cytometry and other immunological methods, and gene transfection using CRISPR/Cas9. Performs animal experiments, including surgeries and dissections on the eye. Performs statistical analyses on data, including RNAseq and proteomics data. Conceptualizes, designs and conducts an independent research project under faculty supervision. Data collection using standardized research protocols; ensures study protocols are followed for compliance. Meets regularly with supervising faculty to review data, progress and timelines. Prepares briefings of results and collaborates during interpretation of study results. Helps faculty supervise students and technicians in the laboratory. Develops, edits, and updates standardized laboratory documents including IRB and IACUC protocols, study notebooks, data collection templates, participant forms, and reporting templates. Assists with preparing reports and other documents for publication and dissemination to journals. Submits abstracts and attends academic meetings to present findings. Other research-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow. About Us
