Before and After School Program Site Coordinator (Part Time) Position: Before and After School Program Site Coordinator (Part Time) – Plymouth

The Site Coordinator is responsible for programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program under the supervision of the School Age Director. The program operates 7:00am to start of school and 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Job Summary Under the supervision of the School Age Director, the Site Coordinator plans and implements a program of activities to ensure each child’s personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. The Site Coordinator will plan and implement activities that support children being innovative, creative, trying new things, laughing, playing, and building relationships with caring adult role models.

Responsibilities Include

Understand and ensure EEC regulations as well as Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care policy, Child Guidance Policy, Health Care Policy) are maintained at all times.

Plan, develop, and implement the program curriculum in accordance with EEC regulations and Old Colony YMCA policies.

Tailor lesson plans to the needs of individual children, considering interests, abilities, cultural diversity, and learning pace.

Provide leadership of daily activities including programs such as Y Chat, Asset Curriculum, BOKS, and Fun/Food Curriculum.

Understand and maintain QRIS standards.

Act in a public relations capacity when communicating with parents, school personnel, and potential clients.

Supervise the program’s children in all locations and during trips.

Complete necessary documentation (accident reports, incident reports, attendance records) and forward copies to the School Age Director.

Provide input in weekly staffing schedules.

Coordinate Family Strengthening by issuing a monthly newsletter/calendar of events for families.

Act as a positive role model and maintain proper behavior of children per YMCA policies.

Ensure Fun/Food Curriculum, menu planning, and guidelines meet HEPA standards.

Maintain attendance records and submit all required reports and paperwork.

Meet with the School Age Director as directed.

Provide leadership in weekly site staff meetings and monthly asset/school age curriculum meetings.

Collect, record, and receipt payments and billing according to the parent payment schedule.

Provide monthly Bureau of Nutrition reports where applicable.

Establish and maintain training programs, conferences, and professional development opportunities.

Establish and maintain working relationships with school or site-specific personnel.

Plan events that promote family and community connections at the school and branch locations.

Assist in planning specialty camps before and during camp sessions.

Supervision Of Personnel

Organize, facilitate, and document regular staff meetings to review work plans.

Attend mandatory training sessions and all site coordinator meetings.

Recruit, hire, supervise, train, and evaluate school-age staff and volunteers.

Organize and schedule appropriate staffing for family/community events.

Requirements Education/Experience/Physical Requirements (Minimum Required)

Minimum of 20 years of age.

Minimum of two years supervision/management experience.

Evidence of physical examination within the last 12 months.

Hours: minimum of one year of school age experience. The before school program opens at 7am; the afternoon program runs 3pm to 6pm.

CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.

Meets health requirements (e.g., TB test, immunizations where applicable).

Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and to work irregular hours including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

Strong oral communication skills for occasional public speaking.

Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.

Understanding of YMCA focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
