Athletic Trainer - Exciting Athletic Trainer / sports medicine job opportunity for high school, college, and semi-pro teams. ~10K Sign-on Bonus! ~ New Grads in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Welcome. ~ Seeking a New York State Certified Athletic Trainer. ~ Full-time ~ A passionate and dedicated Certified Athletic Trainer is sought by a dynamic team. # The certified athletic trainer is charged with managing the health care of participating athletes, including, but not limited to, first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, appropriate modalities, prevention, rehabilitation programs and medical referrals. Athletic training services for all sport-related events will be provided in accordance with current contracts. They also have limited, per diem type contracts with Elmira Heights, Campbell Savona, Notre Dame, Elmira College, and Corning Community College. They provide coverage for the Elmira Pioneers every summer and participate in local summer camps, community outreach, and EMS education. Their dynamic team of athletic trainers also have areas of special interest that they work in during the off seasons (ergonomics, strength and conditioning, orthopedic office coverage, etc.). # The first installment is in the first check if candidate needs it to relocate.) # Contracted to local high school, college, and semi-pro teams. ~ Comprehensive benefits including medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, and more. ~401(k) retirement plan to support your financial future. ~ Disability insurance for peace of mind. ~ Exciting career opportunities in a diverse and vibrant community. ~ Performs the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment (including first aid) and reconditioning of athletic injuries as set forth by the NATA Board of Certification. # Covers assigned practices, sports games or matches and related events under the supervision of the team physician and/or program manager. Depending on the institution, this may include weekend and/or evening contests. # Depending on the institution, travels with the team to away games, including overnight stays as required. # Develops treatment programs, including indicated modalities, therapeutic exercises and strength and conditioning programs, in accordance with findings of evaluations and goals established by the injury assessment or by the treating physician. # Carries out all prescribed treatments and recommendations by the team/program/event physician. # Coordinates follow-up treatment/appointments with physician office manager and/or Rehab scheduling team and ensures immediate access to services. # Informs athlete and families of important aspects of athletes’ present condition, including concussion, wound care, first aid and follow-up care. Informs physician and program manager of any necessary documentation or observable signs that need investigation. # Communicates with athletes, parents, athletic director(s), coaches and physicians regarding athletes’ playing status and ability to return to competition. Demonstrates proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment. # Uses assigned athletic training equipment safely and efficiently. # Maintains athletes’ medical records and relevant paperwork, including statistics and injury logs as established. # Works confidently in crisis or emergency situation, demonstrating knowledge of safety practices. # Participates in select community service/educational programs related to sports medicine. # Assists is program development related to sports medicine. Demonstrates knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the athletes’ status and interpret the appropriate information.

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a health-related field. Current certification from the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers. Preferred one to two years of athletic training experience in a sports environment.
