Journeyman Locksmith We are seeking a skilled and trustworthy Journeyman Locksmith to perform a wide range of locksmith services, including installation, repair, and maintenance of locks, keys, and security systems. The position requires on-site work during regular government working hours and adherence to strict security and trustworthiness standards. Supervisory Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities
Install locks, hardware, and security systems in existing buildings and new construction projects. Disassemble and troubleshoot issues with locks and hardware. Repair existing locks and hardware as needed. Re-key and replace locks and hardware when required. Unlock car doors for customers. Cut new keys and create duplicate keys. Ensure security systems are functioning properly. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of locks, hardware, and security systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools. Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently. Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited master key system/locksmith course by the Associated Locksmiths of America or equivalent. Vocational/technical
school training and apprenticeship preferred. Successful completion of a federal background check required. Physical Requirements
Physically capable of installing and repairing locks and related hardware. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times. Special
Qualifications/Requirements
Must pass a federal background screening and drug test. Must meet trustworthiness determination as specified in SECNAVINST 5510.36A (chapters 10-15). Licenses: If required in the state of Georgia, provide a copy of completed locksmith licenses. On-site during the Government's regular working hours. Completed accredited master key system/locksmith course by the Associated Locksmiths of America or equivalent.
Contractor Work Hours: The Government's regular working hours are from 0700-1600, five days per week, Monday through Friday, except observed Federal holidays. Some additional work required beyond Regular working hours as required to meet contract obligations.
