The Radiologic Technologist provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards to ensure optimal department functions: demonstrates skills and knowledge in the use of all x-ray equipment and performance of all x-ray protocols and procedures. Demonstrates technical proficiency in producing high-quality exams within the appropriate length of time for the procedure.

$2500 Sign-On Bonus

Day to Day

Administers sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies to ensure patient safety.

Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent and assists physicians in optimizing exam performance and interpretation.

Explains procedures to patients and answers questions to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation.

Recognizes clinical or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action.

Responds to and follows up on critical test findings.

Acquires and evaluates lab values (BUN, CR, pregnancy, glucose) when applicable.

Equipment and Environment Maintenance

Checks and inspects equipment and work areas daily for hazards.

Troubleshoots malfunctions and reports dangerous conditions.

Maintains supplies and cleanliness of equipment and linen.

Quality Control

Participates in QC and PI programs, follows up on deficiencies.

Maintains sterile techniques and adheres to body substance isolation policies.

Wears film badge and follows departmental badge policies.

Ancillary Tasks

Records information accurately and legibly.

Performs clerical duties and inputs data into PACS/RADIANT.

Minimum Requirements Education:

Associates degree or a two-year certification in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.

License/Certification:

BLS from American Heart Association, active license or permit from LSRTBE, ARRT(R) registration.
