Position Overview deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. The Software Test Engineer will support testing for a System Integration Lab (SIL).
Responsibilities
Convert test requirements into test plans and procedures, set up and program LabVIEW-based test equipment, execute tests in a hardware-in-the-loop environment, and report results.
Manage hardware communications via Mil-Std-1553, ARINC 429, RS-422, Ethernet, and other data buses.
Analyze digital data and discrete signals to evaluate system performance.
Compare analysis results with predictions and communicate findings clearly.
Work in an office and DoD Laboratory environment.
Apply experience from circuit card to LRU to system levels.
Educational requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; degrees in Computer Science or Software Engineering are preferred.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with hardware and software test automation using LabVIEW, JavaScript, and shell scripting.
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, R, including areas like system modeling, control, image and signal processing, and machine learning.
Design and deployment of Data Acquisition Systems, including software development in LabVIEW.
Development of modular test software for embedded data acquisition and control.
Experience in creating test plans, procedures, and documentation for SIL/HIL environments.
Previous role as a test conductor preferred.
Active Secret security clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
